Philippians 4:6-7—“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation,
by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your
hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
This is one of the Bible verses that I, Joanna, quote often. It reminds me that God has promised to give peace in every circumstance! He has patiently allowed me to be used in every stage of life: First, growing up in a small town in southern Idaho. Second, attending college. Third, living two years in overseas and now working with ISI. I love living and working with international students at Pacific and George Fox University, but I could not be doing so without support. I am ever grateful for the friends and family both past and present that have invested in small and big ways in my life.
My hobbies include studying languages, reading the Bible, exercising, and listening to people's stories. I have three incredible sisters plus one adopted sister from China, loving parents, and a supportive grandmother and extended family. I will try anything once if it is not hurtful, illegal, or will make me sick.
I was released for full time ministry on December 15, 2013. Wow! That means I have been working with international students for over 10 years now! I'd love to have you join my support team if God leads you to do so.
I am so blessed to be able to focus my TIME on what I am called to do: interact with international students and visiting scholars. Thanks so much. I can’t do this alone.
Trevor, my husband, joined me as a ministry representative, aka full time volunteer, with ISI in 2021.
