Please lift up the following international students.
C. (English Name)
China
Met her at orientation, but she became a key player in our international student Bible studies shortly thereafter.
Coco became a Christian her first year here! She now wants to know God more and follow her plan for her life. Pray that God will lead her and she will happily follow where He leads.
Coco loves to share what God has done in her life by changing her from the inside out.
H.Y.
China
Met her at her orientation. Became better acquainted through chats on and off campus. At that time, she was lonely and not feeling like she fit in.
Hongyang became a Christian before coming to college at George Fox. Although she struggled her first year here, now international students and Americans alike look up to her as a Christ like example.
H.Y. is very gifted in organizational leadership and in personal relationships. She is the manager at our international girls house. But this can cause her some tension as she struggles whether to prioritize relationships or organization, both of which are necessary at times. Pray for her to continue to thrive in Christ and be a light to her friends and family.
J.
Haiti
Met him around his orientation time. Have said hello to him on campus since then, and more recently had a chat with him about his plans after graduation.
Jacques is already a Christian and has been for quite some time.
He graduated with a nursing degree and plans to go on for his doctorate and become a Nurse Practitioner so he can help the people of Haiti by running a clinic in a rural area. Pray for him as he works toward achieving this goal.
R.
Kenya
Met her at the international chapel (international chapel is an alternative chapel for international students needing their required “chapel credit”). I told Rachel about an opportunity to intern with us, and while she didn’t end up interning we did become good friends!
Rachel has known the Lord for many years!
Rachel exudes the joy of the Lord. This is evident by the many friends she has already made in her short time here. Pray for she will find the right job after graduation and God will continue to use her mightily in the connections she makes with others.
